HomeMy WebLinkAbout11-22-66 PZMLake Elmo - East Oakdale Joint Meeting c(o(VP On November 22 members of the Lake 'Elino and East Oakdale planning and governing groups met to discuss possible merger. Present were Watson, Raleigh, _Eder, Park, Lambert, Klohn, Beske, Eberhardt, Morgan, Franta, and Lundquist from East Oakdale and Abercrombie, Brookman, Beutel, Catlin and Thomson from Lake Elmo. Rod Lawson and Carl Dale were also present. There was general agreement to proceed with planning for merger, but at a slow rate to give opportunity to sound out public reaction. It was thought best for Lake Elmo and East Oakdale to proceed alone on this merger, and let the MMC bring in the question of Northdale, Oakdale, Bayba n and West Lakelend if they wished. 7t was thought that publicity should be joint and not gie the impression of railroading. It should raise the question as to what we should do. Abercrombie and Lundquist were assigned the job of issuing a news release to let the people be aware that the situation is being studied. Abercrombie and Klohn were also tb advise the MMC of this° Joint study groups were established as follows: Forrn of government Beske, Catlin Taxes, indebtedness, etc Schiltgen, Klohn, Kleis, Morgan Thomson, Olson Law consolidation Schneiderhaus, Franta- History of the area Beutel, Leslie Inventory of Services Brookman, Eberhardt The next meeting will be on January 4 at 8 PM in the old bank building in Lake Elmo.
