Meeting of January 4, 1967 in the old bank building,
Present
Abercrombie, •eske, Eberhardt, Franta, Kleis
Leslie, Lundquist, and Schiltgen
The meeting was called to order by Bruce Abercrombie and the
minutes of the meeting of November 22 were approved as written up.
There were no objections to the committee appointments.
It was decided that the next meeting should be held on February 1st,
and that there be preliminary reports from all committees at that time.
We also desire that Rod Lawson advise us on merger procedures,and
possible timetable for the total consolidation before or at the Feb, ist
meeting.
It was thought that it might be possible to discuss the merger
situation at the East Oakdale annual town meeting in March, and perhaps
even solicit signatures for the petition at that time, depending on the
reaction obtained.
All present thought that the newcommunity should be named
Lake Elmo, A large part of East •akdale now has a Lake Elmo post
office, and the historic name "Oakdale" has already moved to the west.
