The property is now owned by Norden Schwartz. The trailer (a•1968 Forest Park) is 12' by 60'. Mr. Lindahl wants to mount the mobile home on a permanent foundation with the living quarters consisting of trailr and basement. Thus, he would have over 1150 ft.'d of living area, the required minimum. The general consensus of the planning commission was toward denying the request for the following reasons: I. An ordinance prevents trailers other than in trailer courts. 2. Mounting the trailer on a foundation does not really mean it is no longer a mobile home because- the wheels can be added at any time. 3. It does not seem reasonable to consider the trailer home as a prefab home in that it was purchased as a mobile home, is now in a mobile home park and was assembled at a factory and not at the building site as most prefabricated homes. ll. Even though the mobile home is mounted on a permanent foundation, most people will still consider it as a mobile home, allowing one will cause no end of further requests. No action was taken: Applicant: Artie Cat Enterprises (No-one representing them was present) Jack Evert made a motion to reject their request for setting; up a light industrial complex on the Slining property near 212 for the following reasons: 1. Lake Elmo already has an over -abundance of land planned for Industrial 'use and not yet developed. 2. This area is adjacent to residential zones, portions of which are already developed to residential. 3. The planning commission of Oakdale recommended the request be denied in that it is not compatible with their plans for the area adjacent. The motion was unanimously accepted. 2 Applicant: Gordon Lane (not present) In regard to the Letter from Rowland and Merton - sotto, Attorneys representing Mr. Lane, the following discussion and action was taken. Ordinance 14, passed 4/12/60 reads as follows: 1. However a dimensional map of such a sub division shall be filed .with the Township Clerk within 30 days after the subdivision has been made. Dave Boorman made a motion to deny the request, seconded .by L. Kirvida on the following basis: 1. The lot is less than the one acre minimum required above the high water mark. 2. In regard to the drain field easement from the Ziton lot, this is not allowed under Sec. 4.06 pap_;e 31 of the MODEL ZONING REGULATION CODE. The motion was unanimously' passed. Bruce Folz made a motion that the Village proceed with action to purchase the State owned gravel it on Olson Lake Roacl. T. Torseth seconded the motion. The following reasons were•givon: 1. The option to buy this land expires during the year. 2. The price is very reasonable compared to other land in the area (10,000 to 12,000 for 18 acres) 3. We'need recreational area in this tart of the Village. The motion was unanimously accepted.
