Uniform Building Code -- ( State)
Assuming the State 9ui l d' ng Code is accented her Secretary of State,
the Planning Commission favors adoption of this code. 'io action
recommended at present. The i'larn+ng Commission also would favor
the County providing a building i.nepPctor (i.f State Code adopted)
because of the detailed nature of t'-e code end the comnexi.ties
contained therein. A County insoector could probably provide greater
control and continuity in implementing the code.
The reason for no action at tti s time is to assure that the State
officially adopts the code .first. This adoption procedure is now in
proniess but the Code is experiencing object` ors from some parts of the
Sae. Until so adopted, there would be no relatively low cost published
versions available to ns, and we world have to absorb printing costs.
