PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION
MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF SEPTEM ER 25, 1978
The meeting was called to order at 7:30 PM by Chairman Grace,
Roll Call: Novak, Dreher, Lundquist, Grace, Moris, Crombie, Murphy, Sovereign (8:45)
Alternate Prince, Planner, Rob Chelseth, Council — Lyons, Pott, Armstrong
Mrs. Eleanor Danielson: Variance for reduction of minimum square footage for home
lirs. Danielson is requesting a variance to build a home 960 sq. ft. The
present ordinance requires 1,150 sq. ft. The home will be .located on a
five acre parcel, fronting on Co. 17. Health reasons are requiring Mrs.
Danielson to build a smaller home.
Motion by Dreher, Seconded by Crombie to recommend approval by the City
Council, for the request of Eleanor Danielson to vary the building code
for the minimum square footage in a single family dwelling to 960 sq, ft.
Motion oarriel 7-0,
This decision to approve this request is based on the proposed reduction
of minimum house size in the new Zoning Ordinance.
Moose Lodge:No new information has been obtained,
Jeanne Schwartz: Variance for septic system
There being no information about the request in the file no action was
taken. Bob Wier and John Mueller will be requested to appear before the
PZC to explain the request.
Rob Chelseth; Highway 36 Corridor —.New Zoning District
Discussion of Mr. Chelseths'desi.gn also different types of business
Lake Elmo may desire along this corridor.
Tom Loucks: Mr. Loucks did not appear. tonight. October 10, 1978 has been set for
the next Zoning Ordinance meeting. Also on October 10 Rob Chelseth will
present the revised Comprehensive Plan work ups that have been done.
