Chairman Grace called the meeting to order at 7:40 pm.
Roll: Crombie, Murphy, Moris, Novak, Lundquist, Dreher and Michels (9:15)
Absent, Prince. Also present, Building Inspector Kluegel, Planner
Chelseth and Administrator Whittaker Council.: Pott, Mottaz, Johnson
and Armstrong.
PZC Meetings: The May PZC meetings will be May 7 and 21, 1979.
Minutes: Motion by Lundquist, seconded by Moris to approve the minutes of
April 9, 1979 as written. Motion carried 6-0-2. Murphy and Crombie
abstained..
Chrysler Rezoning: This application for rezoning will he presented at the
May 7 meeting.
Goals and Objectives: The Administrator requested the Planning Commission have
their goals and objectives ready by the May 7 meeting, in order that
they may be sent to the Council.
Comprehensive Plan: Rob Chelseth reviewed the Land Use Management Map. Areas
of question were: 1) Airport zone because of potential problems with
noise levels and surrounding residences. 2) Highway 36 corridor —
Mottaz expressed opposition to this. He feels 36 is a commuter highway
and residential is more appropriate than commercial here. 3) What
zoning will be used in the area designated General Rural Use — it is
proposed .for Ag Preservation — 1 house per 40 acre and Rural Residential
5 homes per 40 acres. 4) MUSA Line — discussion if the City should
reserve the rights to the Met Council and Waste Control Commission
allocation of capacity for 6,000 people to 1990. Should the MUSA Line
be relocated at the east line of Section 322
