Chairman Michels called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m.
ROLL CALL: Halden, Crombie, Lundquist, Dreher ,and Curran (7:45).
Absent: Prince.
MINUTES:
OAKDALE
April 14, 1980 - Lundquist moved, seconded by Dreher, to approve
the minutes of April 14, 1980, as submitted. Motion carried 5-0.
COMMENTS ON LAKE ELMO COMPREIENSIVE PLAN: The Commission reviewed
Oakdale's comments and agreed a letter should be sent to the
Met Council restating Lake Elmo's objections to Oakdale'-s?
proposals, as follows:
1. Commercial area north of 40th Street - Lake Elmo does
not desire a commercial area this close to residential.
2. 40th Street should not be upgraded until the intersection
at 694 is built.
3. Oakdale's designation of County 13 - Lake Elmo disagrees
with the proposed location and does not want a collector
street along this border. County 13 should take a more
easterly direction.
4. Bike Trails - Same comment as made last time.
WASHINGTON COUNTY COMMENTS ON COMPREHENSIVE PLAN: The Commission
reviewed the County's comments with the following reactions:
1. Proposed uses in the Regional Park -. several letters
have been sent to both the County and the Met Council on
Lake Elmo's reaction to the proposed uses of and in the park.
To date, the City has had no response from the Park Board
regarding their concerns and recommendations. The City
sees no need to identify the County's proposed uses, since many
are in conflict with the desires of the City.
2. Limited Industrial area south of 212 is one of the few
areas the City foresees allowing this use to happen in. It
is considered an extension of the present business district.
3. Sewer questions can be better answered after the 201
Study. The City has no large scale plans for commercial or
industrial areas before this study is complete.
4. The Administrator will calrify the City's definition
of "Cluster" for the County.
5. The corner of Co. 17 and loth Street is intended for
neighborhood use, in a densely populated area, not a large
commercial area.
STILLWATER TOWNSHIP PLAN: The -.Commission noted one item of information.
Lake Elmo proposes 10A lots on the opposing corner from
Stillwater Townships 1 1/2A proposed lot size. The Commission
had no other comments on the plan.
LUNDQUIST HEARING: Dreher moved, seconed by Crombie, to hold a public
hearing on the Lundquist rezoning and simple lot division,
on Wednesday May 28, 1980, at 7:45 p.m. Motion carried 5-0.
A Lutheran Church is proposing to purchase -a six acre parcel
from Mr. Lundquist, to build achurch. A site plan and survey
of the parcel will be necessary before approval of the minor
