Call to Order
Mayor Gaasch called the Special City Council meeting to order at 11:40 a.m.
Roll Call
Councilors present: Jeff Dains, Sharon Kelly, Duane Pulford, Evan Sayre, and Mayor Mary
Gaasch. Councilors absent: None.
Staff present: Heather Butkowski, City Administrator; Jim Bownik, Assistant to the City
Administrator; and Miles Cline, Deputy City Clerk.
Approvals
Mayor Gaasch asked if there were any additions to the meeting agenda. There being none,
Councilor Dains moved and seconded by Councilor Pulford to approve the agenda. Motion
carried unanimously.
Discussion/Action Item
A. Zoning Ordinance Update Workshop
Jennifer Haskamp, of Swanson Haskamp Consulting, is the City's planning consultant. In 2021,
the City hired Jennifer to rewrite the City's zoning ordinance. The project started in earnest, but
was waylaid by other priority projects.
Staff recently told Jennifer that we were ready to make the final push to complete the project.
Pieces of the zoning ordinance have been revised over the years, but there has not been a
comprehensive rewrite since 1974. Staff consistently run into issues trying to administer these
sections of code.
Haskamp provided a status update before discussing the process needed to complete the project.
During her presentation, she fielded questions and comments from the Council as part of the
greater discussion.
Adjournment
Councilor Pulford moved and seconded by Councilor Dains to adjourn the meeting at 1:40 p.m.
Motion carried unanimously.
