HomeMy WebLinkAbout07/22/2025LAUDERDALE CITY COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES Lauderdale City Hall 1891 Walnut Street Lauderdale, MN 55113 Page 1 of 2 July 22, 2025 Call to Order Mayor Gaasch called the Regular City Council meeting to order at 7:05 p.m. Roll Ca11 Councilors present: Evan Sayre, Sharon Kelly, Duane Pulford, Jeff Dains, and Mayor Mary Gaasch. Councilors absent: None. Staff present: Heather Butkowski, City Administrator; Jim Bownik, Assistant to the City Administrator; and Miles Cline, Deputy City Clerk. Approvals Mayor Gaasch asked if there were any additions to the meeting agenda. There being none, Councilor Pulford moved and seconded by Councilor Dains to approve the agenda. Motion carried unanimously. Mayor Gaasch asked if there were corrections to the minutes of the July 8, 2025, City Council meeting. There being none, Councilor Kelly moved and seconded by Councilor Sayre to approve the July 8, 2025, City Council meeting minutes. Motion carried unanimously. Mayor Gaasch asked if there were any questions on the claims. There being none, Councilor Kelly moved and seconded by Councilor Dains to approve the claims totaling $197,824.67. Motion carried unanimously. Discussion/Action Item A. Resolution No. 072225A — A Resolution Ordering the Abatement of Hazardous Property and Public Nuisance Conditions at 1852 Carl Street City Attorney Ron Batty and Rum River Senior Advisor Carri Levitski joined the meeting via Zoom to explain the hazardous structure ordinance and answer questions from the Council. Their recommendation was to adopt the a resolution pursuing abatement of the hazardous property and public nuisances. Councilor Sayre made a motion to order the abatement of hazardous property and public nuisance conditions at 1852 Carl Street. This was seconded by Councilor Pulford and carried unanimously. Set Agenda for Next Meeting Butkowski stated that the August 12 Council meeting might include the June financial report and the quarterly investment report. Community Development Update Butkowski shared that city staff and tree trimmer planted ten trees in various yards throughout the community where ash trees had been removed. She continued to say that Ramsey County is working with Crossroads Apartments on their Eustis Street steps. Finally, that the sinkhole is almost ready to be paved. B. Opportunity for the Public to Address the City Council Mayor Gaasch opened the floor to those interested in addressing the Council. Larry Lambert, 1803 Eustis Street, shared his concerns about parked cars on Spring Street between Malvern Street and Eustis Street. There being nobody else interested in speaking, Mayor Gaasch closed the floor. Adjournment Councilor Dains moved and seconded by Councilor Kelly to adjourn the meeting at 7:28 p.m. Motion carried unanimously. Respectfully submitted, Miles Cline Deputy City Clerk
