<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 03-EDA-171 <br /> <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION APPOINTING AN ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION MEMBER <br />AND APPROVING THE APPOINTMENT OF THE EDC ELECTED CHAIRPERSON <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Economic Development Commission acts as an advisory <br />commission to the Economic Development Authority on matters that relate to fostering a <br />positive economic climate, encouraging economic development, and enhancing the tax <br />base of the City; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Economic Development Commission is composed of three <br />business representatives and four residents; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Chapter 408.03, subdivision 1 of the Mounds View Code, entitled <br />Economic Development Commission. Composition, provides that Commission members shall <br />be appointed by the Authority President with the approval of the Economic Development <br />Authority Board of Commissioners; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the term for Commissioner Dr. Gregory Belting (business representative), <br />expired on December 31,2002; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Dr. Gregory Belting has expressed a strong interest in continuing to serve <br />on the Economic Development Commission; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, through a unanimous vote of the Economic Development Commission <br />members on January 17, 2003, Dr. Gregory Belting was re-elected chair of the EDC; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Ms. Jackie Entsminger, 7954 Long Lake Road, has applied to fill the <br />resident vacancy on the Commission. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Economic Development Authority of <br />the City of Mounds View hereby appoints Dr. Gregory Belting and Ms. Jackie Entsminger to <br />the Economic Development Commission for three-year terms expiring December 31,2005. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Economic Development <br />Authority of the City of Mounds View hereby approves the appointment of Dr. Gregory Belting <br />as Chairperson to the Economic Development Commission for a one-year term expiring <br />December 31,2003. <br /> <br />Adopted this 10th day of February 2003 <br /> <br />,6.TTEST: <br /> <br /> <br />J~~ <br />James Ericson, Interim City Clerk/Administrator <br /> <br />(SEAL) <br />
