<br />AMENDING THt:: MUNICIPAL CODE OF MOUNOS vn:w BY
<br />AMENDING CHAi<rER 32 "PLANNING COMMISSION" AND
<br />CHAPTER 34 "PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION"
<br />
<br />SECTION 1. Section 32.02 "THE PT.ANNING COMMISSION, COE'posi tion"
<br />shall be amended to read as follows:
<br />
<br />32.02 Composition. Such Planning and Zoning Commission
<br />shall consist of nine members who shall be appointed'a~ follows:
<br />
<br />(1) Nine members from the residence population of Mounds
<br />View, other than persons elected to a public bOdy, to be appointed
<br />by the Mayor with the approval of the Council. The appointees
<br />shall have three-year staog~red terms, three terms expiring
<br />December 31 of each year. All appointments are to be made each
<br />year at the first regular meeting of the CouIlci1 in January.
<br />The Mayor, with approval of the Council, shall appoint a Chair-
<br />person. The appointees shall take office at the first regular
<br />meeting of the Commission in the month of January each.year. Botr
<br />original and successive appointees sha1~ hold their offices until
<br />their successors are appointed and qualified. In the event of a
<br />, vacancy the Mayor, with the approval of the Council, shall appoint
<br />a person to complete the unexpired term.
<br />
<br />(2) Each of the members shall have equal voting privileges,
<br />and all members of this Commission shall serve without compensation.
<br />Any member may be removed for cause by a majority vote of the
<br />Council, upon written charge and a hearing at a regular or special
<br />meeting of the City Council.
<br />
<br />SECTION II. Chapter 34 "PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION"
<br />shall be amended as follows:
<br />
<br />Section 34.02 shalJ b~ amended to read:
<br />
<br />".,... 34.02. COMPOSITION. The CormnisB ion shall consist of
<br />nine members appointed by the Mayor with the approval of the
<br />majority of the Councll.
<br />
<br />.Section 34.03 paragraph (1) shall be amended to read:
<br />
<br />34.03. TERMS AND VACANCIES.
<br />
<br />(Ij l-ieIlIbers of the Commission shall serve three-year
<br />staggere~ terms, thr.ee terms expiring December 31 of each year.
<br />All appo1~tments are to be made each year at the first regular
<br />meeting of the Council in January. Both original and successive

<br />SECTION III. This ordinunc~ sha11 take effect from and after
