Deadbolt Locks: All exit doors leading to public areas or outside from all dwelling units <br />and .r:.q~llJ:i!!~j.!.~hotel units shall be provided with deadbolt locks. At least one deadbolt <br />lock per door must be capable of being locked from the exterior of said unit. For the <br />purpose of this subdivision, a "deadbolt lock" is a locking bolt which, when in the locked <br />position, can only be moved positively by turning a knob, ~ or sliding bolt. Deadbolt locks <br />having a bolt moved by turning a key shall be of the five pin tumbler type or an equivalent <br />approved by the Building InspecteF. Lock throw shall not be less than three-fourths inch <br />(314"). Locks shall meet the requirements of the Uniform Building Code and shall be <br />installed within fifty inches (50") of the floor.
