ORDINANCE NO. 677 CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW COUNTY OF RAMSEY STATE OF MINNESOTA AN ORDINANCE AMENDING TITLE 400, CHAPTER 408 OF THE MOUNDS VIEW MUNICIPAL CODE BY AMENDING SECTION 408.03 AS TO COMPOSITION OF THE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION THE CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW ORDAINS: SECTION 1. Section 408.03 of the Mounds View Municipal Code relating to composition of the Economic Development Commission is hereby amended by the addition of the bold and underlined language and the deletion of the bold and strickcn language as follows: 408.03: COMPOSITION. MEMBERS. QUALIFICATION OF MEMBERS. TERMS OF OFFICE: Subd. 1. ~A...ppointcd Mcmbers, Qualification of Membcrs, Terms of Office: The Commission shall be composed of seven (7) equal voting members, including three (3) business representatives and four (4) residents, appointed by the Authority President with the approval of the Authority Board of Commissioners. Members shall have diverse qualifications with practical experience consisting of, not limited to, but including one (1) of the following areas: economics, finance, accounting, real estate, social services and marketing. For the purpose of initiating the Commission, the terms of all members shall expire December 31, 1994. Beginning January 1995, three (3) members shall serve a one (1) year term, two (2) members shall serve two (2) year terms and (2) members shall serve three (3) year terms. Thereafter, members shall serve three (3) year staggered terms, with terms expiring December 31 of each year. At least two (2) of these terms, but not more than three (3) terms shall expire each year. The appointees shall be duly sworn and take office at the first regular meeting of the Commission in the month of January each year. Both original and successive appointees shall hold their offices until their successors are appointed and qualified. Subd. 2. Designated l\iembers: In addition to appointed membership, onc (1) nonvoting mcmbcr shall bc designated by thc ~A...uthority to scrvc as liaison to thc Commission. Thc terms of the appointmcnt shall ordinarily be for one (1) ycar, cxcept that thcy will terminate with the officc from which thc nonvoting appointment is derived. SECTION 2. This ordinance is effective 30 days after its publication. Read by the City Council of the City of Mounds View on this 8th day of January, 2001.
