Beacons: <br /> <br />(1) Beacons and searchlights may be allowed on a restricted basis with a City permit. <br />written permission from the Metropolitan Airports Commission or other appropriate agency. <br />and City Council authorization. <br /> <br />(2) No beacon or searchlight shall become a public nuisance or shall disturb the peace. <br />safety. comfort and well-being of motorists and residents. <br /> <br />d. Changeable Copy Signs: <br /> <br />(1) Portable and temporary changeable copy signs shall not exceed forty-eight (48) <br />square feet on each side and the entirety of the sign copy shall be maintained within the forty- <br />eight square foot area. <br /> <br />(2) No part of such sign shall extend into or encroach onto public right of way. <br /> <br />(3) Such sign shall not obscure motorist or pedestrian vision and shall not block or <br />otherwise interfere with a public or private sidewalk: or trailway. <br /> <br />(4) Such sign may be lighted provided said lighting is not a nuisance to motorists or to <br />adioining properties. Flashing lights. strobe lights or lights which could be confused for that <br />of an emergency vehicle shall be prohibited. <br /> <br />~ Inflatable Devices: <br /> <br />(1) Inflatable devices shall be securely tethered and attached to the ground or building. <br /> <br />(2) No such inflatable device shall extend more than thirty feet (30') above the roof of <br />the building to which it is attached or adiacent. <br /> <br />(3) Balloons less than two feet in diameter are excluded from the permit provisions of <br />this Section. <br /> <br />(4) No Mylar or metallic balloons shall be permitted to be displayed or flown outside. <br /> <br />f. Flag or Pennant Stringers: Individual flags. streamers or pennants shall not exceed one <br />square foot in area. <br /> <br />g" Grand Openings and Other Events: Subiect to all other requirements of this subdivision. a <br />permit may be issued for a grand opening or other special event that would utilize a <br />combination of temporary signs at anyone principal location. No more than one special <br />event permit shall be allowed per business in a calendar year. <br /> <br />Page 25 <br />
