<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Ordinance 679 <br />. April 18, 2001 <br /> <br />b. No part of such sign shall extend within five feet (5') of a traveled roadway. <br /> <br />c. Such sign shall relate to or direct people to a residential property within the City. <br /> <br />d. Such sign shall not exceed four (4) square feet in area and shall not obscure pedestrian or <br />vehicle visibility or any traffic control sign or violate any other provision of this Code. <br />specifically Subd. 2 hereof. <br /> <br />Subd. 4. Area Identification Signs: The City Council at its discretion may allow for the placement <br />of an Area Identification Sign to define a neighborhood. community. development, <br />subdivision or multi-family complex and may require that: <br /> <br />a. The applicant is a duly noted representative of the appropriate group or organization. <br /> <br />b. The land upon which the sign is located has been dedicated for such a use by easement. <br />plat or other legal and recordable instrument unless such sign would otherwise be permitted <br />herein. <br /> <br />c. A maintenance agreement be recorded which among other things would provide for the <br />long term responsibility. care and maintenance of such sign. <br /> <br />Subd. 5. Off-Site Directional Signs: Off-Site Directional signs may be permitted within a public right <br />of way subject to approval of the City. written approval of the appropriate governmental <br />agency having iurisdiction over the roadway (if not the City) and the written approval of the <br />owner of the property to which the sign may be adiacent if applicable. <br /> <br />1008.12: PROHIBITED SIGNS: The following signs and sign types are prohibited in the <br />City of Mounds View: <br /> <br />Subd. 1. Flashing signs. as defined herein. <br /> <br />Subd. 2. Signs. or lights attached to signs. which mimic or have an appearance similar to those on an <br />emergency vehicle or a traffic control light. <br /> <br />Subd. 3. Roof signs. unless integrally incorporated into the roof design.. then such sign shall be <br />considered a wall sign. Roof signs in existence as of the date of enactment of this Code <br />revision may be allowed to continue and may be repaired or maintained as needed. but may not <br />be replaced except by variance. <br /> <br />Subd. 4. Temporary or permanent advertising signs posted within public right of ways. excluding <br />directional signs and signs expressly allowed herein and by other governmental agencies. <br /> <br />Page 29 <br />
