RESOLUTION 7409 <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING APPROVAL OF AN AGREEMENT WITH EVERGREEN <br />LAND SERVICES TO COORDINATE ACQUISITION OF RIGHT OF WAY ASSOCIATED <br />WITH THE RAMSEY COUNTY TRAFFIC SIGNAL INSTALLATION PROJECT AT <br />SILVER LAKE ROAD AND COUNTY ROAD H <br />WHEREAS, Ramsey County conducted a Traffic Signal Justification Study in 2004 <br />which determined that the intersection at Silver Lake Road and County Road H met <br />warrants for traffic signals; and, <br />WHEREAS, the City of Mounds View adopted Resolution 6604 on August 22, 2005, <br />which expressed support for the installation of traffic control signals at said intersection; and, <br />WHEREAS, in October of 2007, the City Council directed staff to forward <br />correspondence to the County to reiterate its support for the signal installation; and, <br />WHEREAS, Ramsey County notified Mounds View in January of 2009 that it had <br />secured funding for the installation of traffic control signals at said intersection; and, <br />WHEREAS, Ramsey County further notified the City that additional right of way <br />would be needed at three of the four corners of this intersection (two in Mounds View, one in <br />New Brighton) for the installation of the signal equipment; and, <br />WHEREAS, According to Ramsey County policy, municipalities are responsible for <br />acquiring any necessary right of way associated with such projects; and, <br />WHEREAS, Evergreen Land Services submitted a proposal dated Jan 16, 2009 to <br />coordinate the right of way acquisition of the three parcels in Mounds View and New Brighton <br />at a cost not to exceed $5,000, less recording fees and amounts paid to property owners. <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, the City Council approves entering into an <br />agreement with Evergreen Land Services, consistent with their submitted proposal, to <br />coordinate the acquisition of the additional right of way in Mounds View and New Brighton, <br />and directs staff to reach a satisfactory cost-participation agreement with the City of New <br />Brighton. <br />Adopted this 9th day of February, 2009. <br />~.... <br />e Flaherty, Mayor <br />ATTEST: (~~ (?/'n~~' <br />James Ericson, Clerk -Administrator <br />(seal), <br />
