ORDINANCE NO. 823 <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING TITLE 700, CHAPTER 702, OF <br />THE MOUNDS VIEW CITY CODE BY AMENDING SECTION 702.02 AS TO THE <br />PROCESS FOR THE COLLECTION OF FEES, PENALTIES AND CHARGES <br />ASSOCIATED WITH UNPAID ADMINISTRATIVE OFFENSE PENALTIES <br />THE CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW ORDAINS: <br />SECTION 1. The City Council of the City of Mounds View hereby amends Title 700, <br />Chapter 702, of the Mounds View Municipal Code by amending Section 702.02, <br />Subdivisions 5, 6 and 7 with the additional and the st~l~ language as follows: <br />702.02: ADMINISTRATIVE OFFENSES: <br />Subd. 5. Payment of Fine; Late Charges: <br />a. Once such notice is given, the person responsible for the violation shall, within <br />seven (7) days of the time of issuance of the notice, pay full satisfaction of the stated <br />violation schedule to the City Finance Director/Treasurer. <br />b. The penalty may be paid in person or by mail, and payment shall be admission of <br />the violation. <br />c. A late charge shall be imposed for each seven (7) days the penalty remains unpaid <br />after the first seven (7) day period. <br />Subd. 6. Failure to Pay• Complaint: Certification and Hearina: <br />a_If a violator fails to pay the penalty imposed, the Clerk-Administrator may order the <br />issuance of an ordinance complaint as authorized by law2, and the violation shall be <br />processed as a crime by the Ramsey County District ~4~a~~+ei~a-I Court ~s~evide~#ar <br />in ~Ai~~y~an+~~,t,~.~~ c~e,g~'l,g i ~hrli~iioinn 711\ <br />b. Alternatively subject to the reauirements set forth herein. the Citv may certify to <br />the county auditor any unpaid fees. penalties and charaes for a violation which shall <br />then be collected toaether with property taxes levied aaainst the orogertv. Prior to <br />such certification, the Citv must attempt to obtain voluntary payment of the fees. <br />penalties and charaes as provided in this Section and allow the oropertv owner the <br />opportunity to reauest certification to the orogertv taxes as a method of gavment.
