RESOLUTION 7518 <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />AUTHORIZING REPLACEMENT PURCHASE OF CHEMICAL SCALES AND <br />CHEMICAL SWITCH-OVER UNITS <br />WHEREAS, the City of Mounds View produces drinking water and is obligated to <br />meet or exceed Minnesota Department of Health Standards; and <br />WHEREAS, the chemical switch-over units in Water Treatment Plant No. 1 are <br />aging and newer technology allows for more efficient operation and use of water <br />treatment chemicals; and <br />WHEREAS, chemical scales in Water Treatment Plants No. 1, 2, and 3 are <br />showing signs of failure and need replacement; and <br />WHEREAS, City staff has obtained three estimates for replacing three chemical <br />scales and two chemical switch-over units with the low estimate submitted by Larsco in <br />the amount of $5,985 plus tax and shipping costs; and <br />WHEREAS, monies are available in the adopted 2009 City budget under account <br />700-4823-7030 that can be utilized for purchase of the chemical scales and switch-over <br />units without increasing the adopted budget amounts of that account. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of <br />Mounds View, Ramsey County, Minnesota as follows: <br />City staff is hereby authorized to purchase three chemical scales and two <br />chemical switch-over units from Larsco in the amount of $5,985 plus tax <br />and shipping for use in Water Treatment Plants No. 1, 2 ,and 3. <br />2.
