RESOLUTION NO. 7522 <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING SEVERANCE FOR <br />POLICE CHIEF MIKE SOMMER <br />WHEREAS, Police Chief Mike Sommer has retired from the Mounds View Police <br />Department effective October 30, 2009; and <br />WHEREAS, the balance of Police Chief Sommer's accrued and unused sick leave time <br />is 480.0 hours; and <br />WHEREAS, the balance of Police Chief Sommer's accrued and unused vacation is <br />53.09; and <br />WHEREAS, Police Chief Sommer's current rate of pay is $44.76 per hour; and <br />WHEREAS, the maximum potential payout of sick time will be 480.0 hours x 50% x <br />$44.76 = $10,742.40; and <br />WHEREAS, the maximum potential payout of vacation time will be 53.09 x $44.76 = <br />$2,376.30; and <br />WHEREAS, $13,118.70 will be contributed to Police Chief Sommer's Retirement Health <br />Savings Plan. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mounds View City Council approves a <br />one-time payout of sick and vacation time not to exceed $13,118.70 into Police Chief Mike <br />Sommer's Retirement Health Saving Plan. <br />Adopted this 9th day of November, 2009. <br />J~I rt <br />ATTEST: <br />:. <br />~ ~ ~ . ~~,z..,c.: ~~ ~''t,~..~ <br />-" Jim Ericson, Clerk-Administrator <br />(seal) <br />
