RESOLUTION 7527 <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING A JOINT POWERS AGREEMENT WITH <br />THE CITY OF SPRING LAKE PARK CONCERNING THE OPERATION <br />AND MANAGEMENT OF LAKESIDE LIONS PARK <br />WHEREAS, the cities of Spring Lake Park and Mounds View jointly own and operate <br />Lakeside Lions Park located on Hillview Drive; and, <br />WHEREAS, the property currently known as Lakeside Lions Park was deeded to the <br />Cities of Mounds View and Spring Lake Park by Park Playground Inc., a Minnesota <br />corporation, in 1959, and the deed contained language requiring the property to revert back <br />to Park Playground Inc. in the event the City Councils determined to use this land for <br />something other than park land; and, <br />WHEREAS, at that time, the City Councils agreed to jointly operate said park for <br />playground and recreational purposes and created the Lakeside Park Commission, <br />comprised of representation from both cities, charged with the responsibility of providing a <br />well-balanced recreational program and granted whatever general and specific powers <br />necessary to provide said program; and, <br />WHEREAS, the Lakeside Park Commission was dissolved in 1981 and the cities <br />continued to jointly operate the park without any formal agreement. <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Mounds View City Council does <br />hereby approve a Joint Powers Agreement with the City of Spring Lake Park, attached <br />herein as Exhibit 1, to formalize both cities' ongoing responsibilities. <br />Adopted this 23rd day of November, 2009 <br />ertyr r <br />-_---- <br />ATTEST: ~G~1~'~.f/~ ~. <br />James Ericson, Clerk-Administrator <br />(seal) <br />
