Mounds View City Council February 10, 2003 <br />Regular Meeting Page 4 <br />Mayor Linke indicated he had called each and every one of them and asked if they wanted to be <br />re-appointed as it is his philosophy that the application was filled out the first time. <br />Council Member Stigney indicated he did not have a problem with it but noted it does conflict <br />with the policy. <br />Council Member Marty asked if those seeking reappointment could fill out an application. <br />Mayor Linke indicated applications are on file. <br />Council Member Stigney asked whether Council had all the applications applying for the Park <br />and Recreation Committee as it was his understanding that there is .another individual that <br />applied. <br />Mayor Linke indicated he was not aware of any other applications. <br />Council Member Marty indicated he had talked to a resident that turned in an application last <br />year and no one knows what happened to it. <br />Council Member Quick suggested tabling and advertising for the Park and Recreation Committee <br />opening. <br />Council Member Stigney asked if the opening had been posted. <br />Mayor Linke indicated the notice has been in the paper but the new opening just came up last <br />week. <br />Interim City Administrator Ericson indicated the notice was in the paper indicating there were <br />positions open. He then said he is not aware of any other applications. <br />Public Works Director Lee indicated he had no other applications. <br />Council Member Quick asked City Attorney Riggs if one of the applicants was a principal officer <br />of a company the City has a legal situation with. <br />City Attorney Riggs said potentially, but nothing has happened based on previous Council <br />direction. He then said that no claim has been made and Council terminated the relationship in <br />November of 2001. <br />Council Member Quick asked what the City spent money on if there has been no action and what <br />the correspondence with an attorney was about. <br />City Attorney Riggs indicated that nothing has come back since that time. <br />
