Fees <br />There will be no fee for a permit issued under this policy. This policy allows for one (1) <br />plan review and up to three (3) site inspections. If additional plan review is required to <br />approve the plans and more than three (3) site inspections are made to ensure code <br />compliance, a fee of $47.00 per hour will be charged to the contractor. All fees, if <br />applicable, must be received prior to scheduling the final inspection. <br />Inspection and Testing <br />Call Community Development at 763-717-4020, if no answer; leave voicemail. A 24- <br />hour notification is required so your date and time can best be accommodated. Same <br />day inspections are generally not available. <br />1. Hydrostatic tests. The fire sprinkler system components must remain visible <br />and/or be accessible without the use of ladders or lifts during a hydrostatic test. <br />A. When a fire department connection is not provided, the system shall be <br />hydrostatically tested for leakage at normal system operating pressure. <br />B. When a fire department connection is provided, the system shall be <br />hydrostatically tested at 200 psi for 2 hours with no loss of pressure or <br />visible leakage. <br />C. Piping shall remain accessible and exposed during hydrostatic testing. <br />2. Final inspection and testing of the system. <br />A. Where water flow alarms are provided, inspector's test connections shall <br />be installed at locations that allow flow testing of water supplies, <br />connections and alarm mechanisms. <br />General Requirements <br />1. Dry fire sprinkler systems are not allowed to be designed or installed under this <br />policy. <br />2. A minimum of a ten (10) psi safety margin is required. <br />3.
