RESOLUTION 7602 <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />APPROVING THE HIRE OF KEVIN KOCH AS ENGINEERING/GIS INTERN IN THE <br />PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT <br />WHEREAS, the City Council first approved a Public Works Intern position on <br />May 8, 2006 (Res. 6807) in an effort to better serve the citizens of Mounds View, to <br />meet the goals set by the City Council, and to enable the Public Works Department to <br />administer activities associated with public improvement projects; and <br />WHEREAS, the last Public Works Intern resigned and the position was vacated <br />on September 4, 2009; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council approved a revised position description and title <br />change from "Engineering Intern" to "Engineering/GIS Intern" and approved advertising <br />to hire the position on February 8, 2010 (Res. 7475); and <br />WHEREAS, thirty-four applications were received for the position and six <br />candidates were selected for interviews based on the best match of qualifications, <br />duties, and abilities as outlined in the intern position description; and <br />WHEREAS, Mr. Kevin Koch of Blaine, Minnesota was determined to be the best <br />candidate for the Engineering/GIS Intern position. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of <br />Mounds View, Ramsey County, Minnesota as follows: <br />Mr. Kevin Koch is hereby appointed to the position of Engineering/GIS Intern in the <br />Public Works Department, pending a satisfactory background check, with a starting <br />date on or about May 17, 2010. <br />2.
