RESOLUTION 7614 CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW COUNTY OF RAMSEY STATE OF MINNESOTA AUTHORIZING THE ADVERTISEMENT FOR A SEASONAL TEMPORARY PART-TIME BUILDING INSPECTOR WHEREAS, the City Council first approved the temporary building inspector position in 2006 when the Medtronic project started in an effort to better serve the citizens of Mounds View, the contractors working in Mounds View and to meet the goals set by the City Council; and WHEREAS, the previous temporary part time building inspector resigned from the position in May 2009; and WHEREAS, the City used an unpaid building inspection intern from June 2009 through April 2010 to assist the City inspection department in meeting the needs of Mounds View residents and the inspection needs of contractors working in the City; and WHEREAS, rehiring the temporary building inspector will provide much-needed help for the daily building inspection needs of the City of Mounds View. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mounds View City Council, Ramsey County, Minnesota ordains as follows: 1. The seasonal temporary part time building inspector is approved for part-time hours (up to 16 hours per week) and for full-time hours during summer (up to 40 hours per week) at an hourly rate of $15.00 per hour. 2. The City is funding the seasonal temporary building inspector position for up to $7,200 in 2010 with the understanding that the City will be setting the exact work hours for as may be needed. 3. The funding for seasonal temporary building inspector position for future years is subject to City Council approval. 4. The City Council authorizes City staff to advertise for the seasonal temporary part time building inspection position and interview selected candidates.
