Mounds View City Council January 8, 2007 Regular Meeting Page 12 Mayor Marty indicated he discussed this with the City Administrator today and he brought it up • last year as well. He then said that when Kimberly Blackford was still here it was discovered there was no pay scale for part time help so that was drafted and Dave Olson started at 5tep 4 but he has been here a longtime and that is why he lobbied to start him at Step 5. He then said he wants to move Dave Olson to Step 5 and advertise for the rehire position. Council Member Stigney indicated it is not on the agenda and Human Resources Committee should deal with that. Mayor Marty indicated he would like to direct this to Human Resources Committee to consider moving Dave Olson to Step 5. MOTION/SECNOD: Marty/Stigney. To Waive the Reading and Approve Resolution 7002, Approving to Hire a Replacement for a Part Time Cable TV Operator in the Mounds View Cable Department. Council Member Flaherty indicated that he feels that Mr. Olson is an excellent employee and this should be looked at by the Human Resources Committee. Ayes - 5 Nays - 0 Motion carried. 9. JUST AND CORRECT CLAIMS • Council Member Flaherty asked for an explanation on the LCD TV recorders and transceivers. City Administrator Ulrich indicated that this is part of the police video that they are doing for video surveillance adopted by Council and paid for by federal grant money. Council Member Mueller asked what a street opening refund is. Public Works Director Lee explained that anyone who needs to do work in the right of way requires a security deposit and, once the work is done, then the money is refunded. MOTION/SECOND: Hull/Mueller. To Approve the Just and Correct Claims as Presented. Ayes - 5 Nays - 0 Motion carried. 10. APPROVAL OF MINUTES A. City Council Minutes December 11, 2006 Mayor Marty indicated he called his amendments in. He then asked about Page 2, Line 72. Staff will review it. •
