Mounds View City Council January 8, 2007
Regular Meeting Page 2
Mr. Jahnke said that in a previous discussion with the Mayor the Mayor had commented that •
Medtronic would cost the City more money some way and he could not figure out what the
Mayor meant so he is here to ask.
Mayor Marty asked what was being discussed at the time.
Mr. Jahnke did not remember but said he was concerned about it. He then asked the new
Council Members to watch every buck that is spent.
Mayor Marty indicated he would contact Mr. Jahnke to discuss the matter.
6. SPECIAL ORDER OF BUISNESS
A. Presentation by Kari Murlowski re: Alternative Wellness Center
This item was removed from the Agenda.
7. COUNCIL BUSINESS
A. Public Hearing to Consider Resolution 6991, a Conditional Use Permit for an
Oversize Garage at 8410 Knollwood Drive; Planning Case CU2006-010
Planning Associate Heller explained the Conditional Use Permit Application for an oversized •
garage at 8410 Knollwood Drive.
Planning Associate Heller indicated that the Comp Plan encourages improvements to properties
and the CUP process requires the City to take a look at any potential impact to surrounding
properties. She then said that she feels this addition would be a benefit to this property owner
and the surrounding area.
Planning Associate Heller explained that a variance for a reduced side yard setback was
approved by the Planning Commission. She then explained that the addition to the garage would
match the existing structure and blend in well.
Mayor Marty opened the public hearing.
There were no public comments.
Mayor Marty closed the public hearing.
Council Member Flaherty asked if the Applicant discussed this project with the neighbor to the
south.
The Applicant indicated that he had discussed the garage expansion with the neighbor and the •
neighbor did not have an issue with it.
