To Waive the Reading and Postpone Indefinitely Resolution 7014 Ordering the 2007-2008 Street and Utility Improvement Project and Authorizing the Preparation of Plans and Specifications. Council Member Stigney asked whether this should be postponed. Mayor Marty said that he would be hopeful to receive a petition, but he is not optimistic, so he would recommend denial and, if that does happen, then Staff can draft a new Resolution. Council Member Flaherty asked whether there is a time limit on a counter petition. City Administrator Ulrich indicated that there is no time limit for a counter petition, but there is the issue of when the public hearing was held on December 11, 2006, and there is one year to order the project. Council Member Mueller indicated that she would vote to table if there is a time and cost savings to the City, but she understood that the Charter has to take a direct action to deny the • project. City Administrator Ulrich read the language from the Charter on counter petitions for the improvement. Council Member Flaherty said that he would prefer to finalize this Resolution and do a new one if necessary. Council and Staff discussed tabling and postponing and agreed to postpone. Council Member Stigney suggested postponing indefinitely. Council Member Mueller amended her motion to postpone indefinitely. Ayes - 5 Nays - 0 Motion carried. F.
