Mounds View City Council February 12, 2007 <br />Regular Meeting Page 22 <br />Director Ericson noted that Jeremiah Anderson and he would be presenting to the Charter • <br />Commission an amendment to the City Charter to allow a mechanism to assess unpaid <br />administrative fines that are property based. <br />Director Ericson indicated that the new schedule for GIS Land Planning seminars has been <br />received and the Planning Commissioners are invited to attend as are Council Members. Staff <br />recommends the courses. <br />City Administrator Ulrich indicated that a bill was introduced in the House to allow cities to <br />issue administrative fines far motor vehicle violations of a minor type. <br />Mayor Marty asked Staff to contact Representative Tillberry and Senator Betzold to ask them to <br />support the bill. He then said that he talked to some police chiefs who feel that they would love <br />to have this, and then suggested that Staff see if the Police Chief Association could discuss it. <br />City Administrator Ulrich indicated that it is the number one legislative goal of the Minnesota <br />Police Chief's Association. <br />Mayor Marty said that he would like Council to help in any way including a resolution of <br />support if that would be of assistance. <br />Mayor Marty noted that the City is meeting with the City of New Brighton for a joint council <br />meeting at 5:30p.m. on February 26, 2007 to discuss stoplights at Silver Lake Road and County • <br />Road H. The Ramsey County Commissioners and the School District are invited to attend. <br />C. Reports of City Attorney <br />None. <br />12.
