Mounds View City Council March 26, 2007 <br />Regular Meeting Page 3 <br />• Director Ericson indicated that Staff will contact the property owner to see if there is support for <br />the second entrance along with exploring any grant opportunities. <br />Mayor Marty indicated that the City was not aware of grants until the other park entrance project <br />was underway. He then asked Staff to inform this property owner about the grant funding <br />possibility to make it more appealing. <br />6. SPECIAL ORDER OF BUISNESS <br />None. <br />7. COUNCIL BUSINESS <br />A. Resolution 7047 Approving an Off Sale 3.2 Mait Liquor License for Aldi <br />Foods located at 2537 County Highway 10 in Mounds View <br />Assistant to the Administrator Crane addressed Council and explained that Aldi Foods will be <br />opening May 1, 2007 and has requested a 3.2 Malt Liquor License. She then reviewed the <br />investigations conducted and the Staff recommendation. <br />Council Member Stigney asked whether there is a concern for liquor sales when the daycare and <br />. church are located in such close proximity. <br />Assistant to the Administrator Crane indicated she saw no issue with the Code but could look <br />again. <br />Council Member Stigney said that the gas station was not allowed to have a liquor license due to <br />its proximity to the Church and daycare. <br />Director Ericson read from the Code concerning liquor licensing and asked the City Attorney to <br />review it. <br />City Attorney Riggs indicated that Section D would apply which would be the 500 foot <br />requirement. <br />MOTION/SECOND: Stigney/Hull. To Postpone Resolution 7047 to the Next Council Meeting <br />to Resolve the Issue of Distance from the Church. <br />Ayes - 5 Nays - 0 Motion carried. <br />B. Public Hearing to Consider Resolution 7043, Approving an Outdoor <br />Consumption Endorsement for Moe's Located at 2400 County Highway 10 in <br />~ Mounds View <br />
