Mounds View City Council June 11, 2007
Regular Meeting Page 2
Mr. Perozzi would like to know what the setbacks are on the property. He then said that he just ~
wants to get the parking lot in. He further said that there is a utility on their property that was
ignored and neglected and they have a grading issue that causes water to run to their property.
Director Ericson indicated that there is 10% of the bond left and he will work with the parties to
move the process along.
David Jahnke of 8428 Eastwood Road said that he watched the work session and there was
discussion of getting rid of the franchise fees.
Mayor Marty indicated that was a goal of the City ever since it was first implemented but he
would not pursue at this time.
Mr. Jahnke said that he is happy that Mayor Marly changed his mind on Medtronic as they are a
large contributor. He then said that 60% of the franchise fees comes from businesses.
Dan Mueller of 8343 Groveland Road wanted to beat the rush on campfire issues. He then said
that he was wondering if Council is going to have to have residents ask if it is okay to plant
certain types of flowers if the City is going to limit fires due to allergies. He further said that this
is a shame to go this far because a couple of people cannot get along.
Dan Mueller said that he wonders if he needs a permit for his smoking of fish or brisket and
other cooking and whether he needs a permit for mowing the lawn if it is dusty so as not to cause •
issues with allergies.
Mr. Mueller said that residents pay high t~es and he does not think it is necessary to add
another permit for a camp fire.
Mayor Marty indicated that Council will be discussing the matter further at another work
session.
6. SPECIAL ORDER OF BUISNESS
A. Malloy, Montague, Kamowski, Radosevich, & Co. P.A., to Present the City's
December 31, 2006 Comprehensive Annual Financial Report and
Management Report
•
