Public Hearing to Consider the First Reading and Introduction of Ordinance <br />3 793, an Ordinance Amending the Zoning Code to Eliminate References to the <br />4 Former Public Facilities Zoning District <br />5 <br />6 Community Development Director Ericson explained that this amendment would clean up the <br />7 Zoning Code relative to the public facilities zoning district because the Code was amended to <br />8 eliminate the public facilities zoning district at the direction of the City Attorney but, Chapter <br />9 1124, the Telecommunications Chapter was not addressed and it states that towers can be located <br />10 in a PF district. <br />11 <br />12 Mayor Mariy opened the public hearing at 7:13 p.m. <br />13 <br />14 Hearing no public comments, Mayor Marty closed the public hearing at 7:13 p.m. <br />15 <br />16 Council Member Mueller would like to add the City parks and properties rather than just City <br />17 parks because it appears to her that towers would not be allowed on other City properties unless <br />18 it was a City park. <br />19 <br />2o Director Ericson said that would be appropriate to allow towers on any other City owned <br />21 property. <br />22 <br />23 MOTION/SECOND: Mueller/Hull. To Waive the Reading and Introduce Ordinance 793, an • <br />24 Ordinance Amending the Zoning Code to Eliminate References to the Former Public Facilities <br />25 Zoning District as Amended. <br />26 <br />2~ Mayor Marty asked about the third page of Chapter 1124, regarding zoning districts and height <br />28 limitations and co-locations. <br />29 <br />3o Director Ericson explained that the intent was to encourage multiple users on a tower rather than <br />31 one for each user. <br />32 <br />33 Mayor Marty asked about Section 1124.05, Subd. 4, where it discusses landscaping plans being <br />34 approved by the forester and City Council or the Director of Community Development. He then <br />35 said that he would like to recommend that it be the Director of Community Development and the <br />36 City Forester. <br />37 <br />38 Director Ericson asked whether that change can be made tonight because this hearing was <br />39 regarding the PF district. <br />40 <br />41 City Attorney Riggs indicated that this deals with the same Chapter and can be approved with <br />42 this first reading. <br />43 <br />44 Mayor Marty said that he would like to add City Forester down further in the same section. He • <br />45 then said that the Ricochet towers were not removed and the section on tower removal he would <br />
