RESOLUTION 7659 <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />RESOLUTION 7659 AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF A FUEL TANK MONITOR <br />AND USED FUEL PUMP FOR THE PUBLIC WORKS FACILITY AND <br />RESCINDING OF RESOLUTION 7651 <br />WHEREAS, on July 26, 2010 the City Council Approved Resolution 7651 which <br />authorized the purchase for a new fuel pump and diesel fuel tank monitor located at the <br />Public Works Facility; and <br />WHEREAS, the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA) mandates monitoring <br />of all underground fuel tanks to detect fuel leakage from the tank; and <br />WHEREAS, the City's fueling station is in need of repairs to comply with MPCA <br />mandates, including an inoperable tank monitoring unit and a severely deteriorated <br />pumping station; and <br />WHEREAS, the City solicited and received finro quotes by qualified vendors to <br />provide said purchase; and <br />WHEREAS, the apparent low quote from Pump and Meter Services, Inc., approved <br />by Resolution 7651, did not include the cost of the fuel pump; and <br />WHEREAS, the quote from Minnesota Petroleum Service, Inc. in the amount of <br />$6,734.09, which includes a new fuel tank monitor and a used fuel pump, is the low quote; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, Staff recommends that the City Council consider a 5% contingency to <br />the Minnesota Petroleum Service, Inc. quote, to account for any necessary unknowns that <br />may be required to complete the work required. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mounds View City Council does <br />hereby rescind Resolution 7651 and approve the purchase of a used fuel pump and fuel <br />tank monitor from Minnesota Petroleum Service, Inc. in the amount of $7,070.79 which <br />includes sales tax, shipping costs and 5% contingency to be funded equally from the <br />following accounts: 100-4360-5110, 100-4460-5130, 100-4465-5130, 100-4470-5130, 100- <br />4472-5130, 245-4417-1230, 700-4823-5130, 730-4823-5130. <br />Adopted this 9th day of August, 2010 <br />~ <br />e Flah , ayor <br />ATTEST: <br />`~ a~-~o ~'~ ~~'_ <br />James Ericson, City Administrator <br />(SEAL) <br />
