RESOLUTION 7648 CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW COUNTY OF RAMSEY STATE OF MINNESOTA ACCEPTING DONATIONS FOR GREENFIELD PARK BASEBALL FIELD IMPROVEMENTS AND APPROVING NAMING THE FIELD IN MEMORY OF MARK WISSER WHEREAS, Ms. Kate Wisser of New Brighton, Minnesota desires to donate $25,000 to the City of Mounds View in honor of her late husband, Mr. Mark Wisser, to be used for baseball field improvements at Greenfield Park; and WHEREAS, it was determined by the Parks and Recreation and Forestry Commission (the "Commission") and City staff that an electronic scoreboard and a batting cage would be the best improvements to use for the donation amount; and WHEREAS, Mr. Mark Wisser was actively involved with youth baseball as a coach, umpire, and volunteer and was a big fan of the baseball field at Greenfield Park; and WHEREAS, Ms. Kate Wisser requested that the City consider naming the field "Mark Wisser Memorial Field" in memory of her late husband, Mr. Mark Wisser; and WHEREAS, the Commission endorses naming the baseball field in honor of Mr. Mark Wisser and believes the baseball field improvements are worth pursuing; and WHEREAS, City staff have finalized improvement costs and believe the improvements can be paid for entirely with the $25,000 donation by Ms. Kate Wisser. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Mounds View, Ramsey County, Minnesota as follows: The Mayor and City Council hereby acknowledge Mr. Mark Wisser's contribution to youth baseball as a coach, umpire, and volunteer. 2. The Mayor and City Council accept the generous donation of $25,000 by Mr. Kate Wisser in memory of her late husband, Mr. Mark Wisser. 3. The Mayor and City Council hereby approve naming the baseball field at Greenfield Park to "Mark Wisser Memorial Field" in honor of Mr. Mark Wisser.
