RESOLUTION 7652 <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />APPROVING A CONTRACT WITH CUMMINS NPOWER, LLC TO REPAIR AND SERVICE <br />THE EMERGENCY GENERATOR LOCATED AT THE BOOSTER STATION <br />WHEREAS, the City owns a 275-kW Onan emergency standby generator used for <br />operating the Booster Station, Water Tower, and Water Treatment Plant No. 1/Well No. 3 <br />during electrical power outages, and; <br />WHEREAS, the emergency generator recently broke down and requires heater <br />repairs and overdue maintenance service to the coolant system; and <br />WHEREAS, the City solicited and received finro quotes ranging from $3,721.38 to <br />$4,069 by qualified vendors wiling to perform the repair and service work; and <br />WHEREAS, the City council understands the need to provide power to the treatment <br />plant and booster station in the case of natural or man made emergencies; and <br />WHEREAS, Cummins NPower, LLC of St. Paul, Minnesota submitted the lowest <br />quote in the amount of $3,721.38; and <br />WHEREAS, funding for the generator repair and service work will be funded by the <br />System Maintenance account of the Water Infrastructure and Equipment Maintenance fund <br />(700-4823-5160). <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Mounds <br />View, Ramsey County, Minnesota as follows: <br />1. The City hereby accepts the quote proposal of Cummins NPower, LLC of St. Paul, <br />Minnesota for the heater repair and coolant system maintenance service work to <br />the Onan emergency generator located at the Booster Station for $3,721.38. <br />2. Public Works staff is authorized to prepare an independent contractor agreement <br />between the City of Mounds View and Cummins NPower, LLC for said heater <br />repair and coolant system service. <br />3. Upon satisfactory review of the independent contractor agreement by the City <br />Attorney, the Mayor and City Administrator are hereby authorized and directed, for <br />and on behalf of the City, to execute and enter into the independent contractor <br />agreement with Cummins NPower, LLC for said heater repair and coolant system <br />maintenance service. <br />4. Payment for repair and service work shall be funded by the System Maintenance <br />account of the Water Infrastructure and Equipment Maintenance fund (700-4823- <br />5160) in an amount not to exceed $3,907, which includes a 5% contingency for <br />other repairs that may be needed and discovered during the repair and service <br />work. <br />
