Mounds View City Council June 28, 2010 <br />Regular Meeting Page 10 <br />Mayor Flaherty reopened the public hearing at 9:20 p.m. <br />Hearing no public input, Mayor Flaherty closed the public hearing at 9:20 p.m. <br />Council Member Mueller indicated she would be willing to give the applicant an additional 30 <br />days to assure that all fire violations are corrected. This would give them until July 30th to <br />comply with all City and State fire codes. <br />City Administrator Ericson stated the applicant was fine with the outstanding fees being certified <br />to the property taxes. He questioned how the Council wanted to handle the statement within the <br />resolution stating "full payment of }�roperty taxes." <br />City Attorney Riggs suggested the Resolution read, "full payment of applicable property taxes <br />and Sewer Availability Charges." If the SAC fees were not paid these would be certified to the <br />property taxes by the City. <br />MOTION/SECOND: Mueller/Hull. To Waive the Reading and Adopt Resolution 7626, <br />approving an On Sale Intoxicating Liquor License Renewal for The Mermaid located at 2200 <br />County Highway 10 contingent upon a satisfactory fire inspection by July 30, 2010 and full <br />payment of applicable properiy taxes and Sewer Availability Charges. <br />• <br />Ayes — 4 Nays — 0 Motion carried. • <br />Mayor Flaherty stated the Council was willing to work with its businesses and residents to <br />resolve issues and keep operations viable. However, certain rules have to be followed and the <br />Council will hold these businesses accountable to assure they are in compliance. He was proud <br />of the Council for taking the time to review each case at length and in detail. <br />E. Resolution 7635, Ratifying the Mounds View Election Judges for the 2010 <br />Primary and General Elections. <br />Assistant City Administrator Crane stated that State law requires that election judges for the <br />Primary and General Elections be appointed by the municipal governing body. Resolution 7635 <br />contains a finalized list of election judges for the 2010 Primary Election (August 10, 2010), and <br />the General Election (November 2, 2010). The City currently has trained over 60 judges for the <br />Primary Election and General Election. Staff recommends Council approve the appointment of <br />election judges for the 2010 Primary and General Election. <br />MOTION/SECOND: Gunn/Mueller. To Waive the Reading and Adopt Resolution 7635, <br />ratifying the Appointment of Election Judges for the 2010 Primary and General Elections. <br />Council Member Gunn thanked all those willing to serve and participate in the election process. <br />Mayor Flaherty agreed with these comments and thanked the residents serving the community in • <br />the upcoming elections. <br />
