its studies that <br />RESOLUTION <br />VTLLAG° OF MOU .m3 ITFW <br />COU' 1TY OF RA MSEY <br />SPATE OF i it VESOTfA. <br />A R.SULUTJ O; t OPPOSING T?E EXPAHSIOA OF TEE A:IOKA <br />COUVTY AIRPORT AT ITS PRESErIT SITE AID REQUESTI-;G <br />THE NE ROPOLITA d AIRPORTS GOEIMTSSIOI TO CONDUCT <br />SUCH EXPAJSIOI AT A DIFFEREET SITE. <br />The Village Council of the Village of Mounds View at <br />a special meeting held at the Village office on the 7 day of March, <br />1961 at r o'clock p.m. approved unanimously the following resolution. <br />Moved by, ›.9‘.4 and seconded by as follows: <br /> 64 WHEREAS, The Metropolitan Airports Commission intends <br />to expand the facilities of the Anoka County Airport, presently located <br />on the northern boundary of the Village of Mounds View, and <br />WHEREAS, said facilities would be expanded to facilitate <br />the handling of large commercial and military aircraft, and <br />WHEREAS, The Village Council recognizes as a result of <br />1. A major airfield will create an economic stimulus for <br />the adjacent area as well as an employment center to help in supporting <br />an increased population, <br />2. Major airports do not adverseley effect property <br />values of adjacent property and <br />WHEREAS, The Village Council agrees with the principal <br />of an expanded major airfield in this general area on the grounds that it <br />will provide commercial development, <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED That the Village Council <br />of the Village of Mounds View agrees with the principal of an expanded major <br />airport in this general area, and <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED That the Village Council stand <br />unanimously opposed to the expansion of the present Anoka County Airport site <br />on the grounds that <br />1. It would create a dangerous situation to the residents <br />of the Village of Mounds View <br />
