WHEREAS, the disposal surface waters is of grave concern in an <br />urban area and especially so in Ramsey County, and <br />WHEREAS, numerous flooding problems are occuring and will become <br />more numerous as the land use 's intensified, and <br />WHEREAS, present legislation for the handling of the disposal of <br />surface waters is inadequate and corrective legislation is needed, and <br />WHEREAS, the County of Ramsey has embarked upon a program of acquiring <br />park and recreational areas, <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the Village of Mounds <br />View, in regular meeting duly called and held this:ath day of <br />August, 1962, that the Board of County Commissioners be hereby <br />petitioned to have the County of Ramsey take an active part in <br />the preparation of the required legislation for the disposal of <br />surface waters by coordinating the efforts of the several <br />municipalities, and <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that such proposed legislation should <br />provide for the integration of a County -wide drainage plan with <br />the enlargement of park and recreational areas, and <br />BE IT FURTHER RESt.VED, that the main drainage ways be acquired <br />as soon as possible by the County of Ramsey to prevent further <br />private development in such water carrying ways, and <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Village Clerk is hereby directed <br />to forward copies of this resolution to the Board of County <br />Commissioners, County Legislators and Municipalities. <br />Adopted by the Village Council of Mounds View, this 27th Day cf <br />August, 1962. <br />Attest: <br />Village Clerk <br />Voting: Mayor Crane aye <br />Trustee Hodges aye <br />Sullivan aye <br />Malvin aye <br />RESOLUTII 111 <br />ilea-, A <br />Mayor <br />
