via <br />RESOLUTION 119 <br />RESOLUTICN FCR CITY AND VI'_.LAGE COUNCILS RELATING TO <br />PERA OASDI COVERAGE FCR EMPL YiEES <br />WHEREAS, The Ramsey County League of Municipalities and League <br />na ataallMl9V t o v L M V <br />of Minnesota Municipalities have adopted resolutions asking for <br />legislation that would allow each present member of PERA the right <br />to choose between continuing the present PERA retirement plan, or <br />a plan combining full social security coverage with a modified <br />PERA plan_, and <br />WHEREAS, this coverage will permit each individual employee of <br />the Vil,�_of Mounds View to elect that form of <br />retirement benefits which would be most beneficial to him, and <br />i1HEREAS, The use of combined PERA and OASDI coverage for <br />Village employees would not be likely to increase unduly the <br />ccst of retirement benefits paid by the Village, over what such <br />cost would be if PERA coverage alone were continued. <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Village Council of the <br />Village of Mounds View that. <br />This Coucnil favors legislation that would allow <br />each member of PERA to elect to continue in the <br />present PERA retirement plan or to elect to be- <br />come a member of a retirement plan which combines <br />full social security coverage with a modified <br />PERA plan. <br />Passed by the Village Council of the Village of Mounds View <br />this 8 day of April, 1963 <br />d e C&5` 7 4 e <br />Mayor <br />
