74 <br />Mrs. 1ilson appeared before the council regarding the division of lot 86 Spring <br />Lake Park Hill1iew Addition requesting the council take action regarding the division <br />of this lot. n view of the fact that the sub— division of this lot has not yet been <br />presented to the Planning Commission it was decided that this request be tabled until <br />the Planning Commission has returned the request of this sub division to the council for <br />action on June 1st, 1959. <br />Miss Sandy Taylor, a member of the committee appointed to read and study the Curfew <br />Ordinance appeared before the council with the Civil Defense Director, Mr. Rusted. <br />Miss Taylor dated that insofar as the teenagers were concerned who were members of <br />the committee, the Curfew Ordinance seemed to be fair in all respects. The council <br />amended Section 4 of the Ordinance to read "The Mayor, upon the request of the i Superin— <br />5bte leader <br />tendent of School or other responsible youth youth l.auai• in the Village of Mounds View may <br />designate certain nights during the school year as "School Nights" or "Youth Nights <br />Motion by Sullivan, seconded by Christensen to approve Ordinance #57, Curfew O rdinance, <br />as amended. Motion carried unanimously. <br />Mr. Charles Bubar, a representative of the Northwest dydrogas Company, appeared <br />by request of the council regarding a heating contracting license. Mr. Bubar stated <br />that the 'Northwest ydrogas Company installed the gas tanks and extended the lines into <br />the house with a shutoff valve and that to his knowledge a heating contracting license <br />was not required unless installation of the tank and line was made to an appliance. <br />After review of the building code and an interpretation of this code by the village <br />attorney it was agreed that such installation did not require a license and that minor <br />repairs of such installations after the original installation also did not require a <br />license. <br />Mr. Van Elsburg, the weed inspector for the village, appeared by request of the <br />council in regards to the eradication of noxious weeds. Mr. Van Elsburg was instructed <br />to use chemicals on public property only and that use of chemicals by the weed inspector <br />on private property would not be compensated for by the village. Mr. Van Elsburg was <br />also instructed that if he used chemicals on private property bills for such service <br />should be submitted by Van Elsburg to the county for collection. <br />Motion by Gibson, seconded by Sullivan that t1°.00 be given to the Planning <br />Commission for expenses incurred ',y thst committee. 1°a otion carried unanimously. <br />Clerk Smith pointed out, however, that monies expended by the Planning Commission must <br />be accounted for and submitted to the Clerk for purpose of future financial statements. <br />Mr. George Chabot, 2474 County Road H arneared before the council requesting <br />the moving of a garage into the village to be placed on his property. Mr. Chabot was <br />instructed by the council to comply with Ordinance #62 subject, Moving of Houses into <br />the Village, and submit an application according to that ordinance. <br />Mr. Rusted, Civil Defense Chairman, appeared before the council requesting <br />that the 1956 police car currently to be disposed of by sale be turned over to the <br />Civil Defense for use by that organization. The release of said police ca- to Civil <br />Defense was tabled until the June 1st meeting pending the investigation of :Hatching <br />funds by the Civil Defense organization and the rendition of a report to the council <br />at the June 1st meeting. <br />Clerk Smith read a letter from tor. Rer.trup w'o had requested to appear et <br />the May 18th meeting of the vi11nre council hut was absent to an alleged sickness. By <br />Mr. Bentrup's letter it was stated by him thr-.t he would rot erperr at a village council <br />meeting as requested due to an opinion h'; Mr. pentrup that the council lacked the <br />authority to request his arnear for Tiest5 oning the remodeling of the ouse at 8159 <br />
