The regular meeting of the Mounds View Village Council was called to order by Mayor <br />James W. Gibson at 8:37 P.M. on June 15, 1959, at the Village Hall, 1450 West Highway 95_ <br />The following were present: <br />Mayor: James W. Gibson <br />Clerk: Earl E. Smith <br />Trustees: Melford C. Christensen <br />John L. Sullivan <br />Deputy Clerk: Betty Walbridge <br />Legal Cr msel: Richard Meyers <br />Engineci: W. V. Comstock <br />Treasur e: Irene Edberg <br />and the f ollewing Trustee was absent: Reuben G. Achterkirch <br />June 15, 1959 <br />81 <br />The Clerk read the minutes of the meeting of :Tune 1, 1959 and Paragraph 9 <br />concerning the rezoning of the triangle in Highway 8 and 10 was corrected to read from <br />farm residential to business. Motion by Sullivan, seconded by Christensen to approve <br />the minutes as amended. Motion carried unanimously. <br />Mayor Gibson read a letl'er from the State Highway Department regarding the approval <br />of Highway map SP- 6284 -23 requesting approval of the area A 35 -W from the south village <br />limits to County Road H2. The map was discussed with representatives of the State Highway <br />Department and also the map 35 -W north of County Road lit to the north village limits and <br />the matter was tabled until the next council meeting of July 7th. It was decided that <br />the council would meet with the village engineer and the State iiehway Department in <br />regards_to the approval of the aforementioned area. <br />A representative of the State iealth Department read a report concerning the water <br />situation in the village. In this report it was mentioned that five houses in the village <br />had 'been tested for contaminated water and resulting evidence found that one house was <br />totally contaminated, three others slightly contaminated and one house having water <br />containing no contamination. The council approved a motion by Sullivan, seconded by <br />Christensen that the well inspector and Trustee Christensen contact the Health Department <br />as a committee, to obtain sampling kits and take samples of water from 89 wells in <br />different parts of the village taking in both segments either heavily or sparsely <br />populated. Motion carried unanimously. Motion by jullivan, seconded by Gibson that a <br />letter be written to Commissioner Rosen of St. h aul Water Works stating that complaints <br />were received which were believed to be the result of the pipe line placement on County Road I <br />and that the Commissioner of the St. Paul Water Works could contact the village office <br />where they will be given a list of these people with whom they can make an adjustment. <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br />A Resolution for Mr. Ludwig, of the League of Municipalities, was read by <br />Mayor Gibson and approved by tie Council. <br />A letter was read by Mayor Gi'.•son received from Mr. Ellingson, 5446 Erickson Road, <br />requesting permission for parking a house trailer on his property and hooking up said <br />trailer to the water and sewage at that location. Motion by Sullivan, seconded by <br />Christensen that request for parking of tie house trailer on Mr. Ellingson's property he <br />denied on grouns that this has been an established precedence by previous counc ls. <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br />
