Sullivan <br />Legal Councel: Richard Meyers <br />Deputy Clerk: betty Walbridge <br />Treasurer: Irene Edberg <br />July 21, 1959 <br />The regular meeting of the Mounds View Village Council was called to order by <br />Mayor James W. Gibson at 7:00 F.M. on July 21, 1959, at the Village Hall, 1450 West <br />Highway 96. <br />87 <br />Mr. Robert Hook appeared before the council and the hearing £pr the rezoning of the <br />property on County Road I and Long Lake Road was opened. I`ir. Robert Hook then requested <br />that said property'be rezoned from farm residential to Class C Residential for the purpose <br />of building one and a half story apartment houses. Mr. Hook stated his reasons for approval <br />of rezoning request and submitted a petition signed by more than 500 of the landowners within <br />500 feet of said property. The minister and members of the council of the Sunrise Methodist <br />Church adjacent to the property in question appeared before the council and requested that <br />council deny the rezoning at the present time until the overall plan showing the land use of <br />the village is complete and presented to the village for public hearings: Mr. Alan Crane <br />read the report from the Planning Commission which also denied the rezoning at present until <br />the land use plan is presented. Mr. Hook was asked to attend the meeting of the Planning <br />Commission on July 30, 1959 and the council also requested that Mr. Hook encourage Mr. Joe <br />Lambert, the adjoining property owner, to also attend this sane meeting to investigate the <br />use of the entire property in qu-stion. Mr. Hook was also requested to obtain the addresses <br />of the adjoining property owners who signed the petition along with certificate of ownerships <br />of said property within 500 feet of the property to be rezoned. Motion by Gibson, seconded <br />by Sullivan to continue the hearing at 7:00 P.M. August 4, 1959. Motion carried unenaimously. <br />Motion by Gibson, seconded by Christensen to appoint Donald Hodges to replace Mr. <br />Achterkirch as Trustee for the remaining term ending December 31, 1959. Motion carried <br />unanimously. <br />Mr. Phil Dunning, of Hart Trailer Sales, appeared before the council requesting <br />permission to maintain a travel trailer sales and service at the southwest intersection <br />of County Road H2 and highway 10. Motion by Sullivan, seconded by Smith, that the matter of <br />the special use permit for the operation of travel trailer sales at County Road ii2 and <br />Highway 10 be referred to the Planning Commission to be considered at the July 30th Planning <br />Commission meeting and a report returned to the council at the meeting of August 4, 1959. <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br />The Clerk read the minutes of the June 15th meeting and moved by Christensen, seconded <br />by Sullivan to approve the minutes as written. Motion carried unanimously. the Clerk read <br />the minutes of the July 7th meeting and the following corrections were made thereto: in the <br />second paragraph regarding the Highway Department plans north of Bounty Hoed H2 to the north <br />village limits no council action was taken but the plans were to be studied before any decision <br />was made therto. Su& decision would be rendered to the highway department within the legal <br />prescribed time of 90 days from date of preseriation of plan. On Page 2 regarding the <br />placement of a chimney which was sub standard tle clause Class A chimney intead of brick <br />chimney shall be inserted. lotion by Sullivan, seconded };y Christensen to approve the <br />minutes as amended.
