Mrs. Alice Frits reported the hockey rink has been moved to <br />Edgewood School. <br />Mayor Gibson appointed a committee of Allan Crane, <br />Walter Skiba, Robert Edmond and the Mayor to draw up a <br />to present to people requesting subdivision of a piece <br />a building permit, etc. Meeting Monday night, October <br />110 <br />Motion by Christensen that all the books over which the Clerk <br />has jurisdiction and is required to keep be kept in whichever place <br />or whatever place is safe in his opinion whether that be in the fire <br />proof file in the office or whether it be in a fireproof file in his <br />home or wherever it may be in his opinion. Motion lost for lack of <br />a second. <br />The subject of Clerk Smith stating he could not find enough time <br />to properly fulfill the duties of his office was discussed by the <br />council. Smith stated that due to other council business requiring <br />all members, his time was limited in conducting office procedures, <br />maintaining financial records and proper supervision of the office. <br />Smith submitted a request that the office be open all day Saturday <br />from 8 :00 until 5 :00 o' cloo:;. .3d that he would give up his present <br />part time job in order to comply with the demands made previously by <br />Mayor Gibson. Smith also proposed that the Deputy Clerk's hours be <br />adjusted as to time and days of duty in order to compensate for the <br />aforementioned Saturday duty, in order to avoid additional Village <br />clerical costs. Attorney Meyers read several Attorney General's <br />opinions regarding such requests, who have held that a Clerk's salary <br />.an be adjusted only at the beginning of his term. <br />Attorney Meyers stated that by a request of the council he had <br />checked the liquor laws and that the village could not act on any <br />petition request for liquor until the village was incorporated for a <br />period of two years. Allan Crane had an opinion in regards to a <br />liquor license for the village. He will check with the attorney and <br />report back at the next meeting. <br />The attorney reported that we cannot give money for the Teen Club <br />as requested at the last council meeting. <br />A letter was written to the Mutual Insurance Company by the Village <br />Attorney informing them the Village hall at 1k50 West Highway 96 has <br />been sold. <br />The matter of a resolution for the issuance of Village Warrants <br />bearing 5°o interest up to the amount of $10,000. referred to the <br />attorney to report back at the October 20 meeting. <br />Chris Piehowski, <br />short procedure <br />of property, <br />13 at 7 P.M. <br />Meeting to be held in the Village office, October 15, at 7 :00 P.5!. <br />with the Village Attorney, Village Engineer and Village Fiscal Agent <br />with the Village Council to go over the water report of the Village <br />Engineer. <br />
