The regular meeting of the Village Council was called to order by <br />:ia or Allan B. Crane at 8 :07 P. M. on July 25, 1960, at the Red Oak School, <br />Red Oak Drive and Sharewood Road. <br />Present were: <br />Mayor Allan B. Crane <br />Clerk Earl E. Smith <br />Trustees Belford C. Christensen <br />Donald C. Meyers <br />Lester Snutson <br />c`.0 t. ;2 <br />Clerk Smith read the minutes of the meeting of May 31, 1960 which <br />corrected to read that a motion was made to pay half of the cost of <br />building lavatories at Lakeside Park with the village share not to exceed <br />i500.00. Notion by Malvin, seconded by Hodges to accept the minutes as <br />amended. 5 ayes, motion carried. <br />Ordinance number 71, subject °AH ORDIKA;FCE REGULATIi'G AND CONTRCLLIZG <br />SHE SETTIiG, IGNITING OR STARTI.TG OF FIRES WITHI7: THE VILLAGE OF MOISDS <br />VIEW; PROVIDING FOR WERGEiCY POWERS; AND REPEALIiNG ORDINAiCE NO. 90 was <br />reed and moved by Smith, seconded by Malvin for ao•3roval. Amendment to <br />the Ordinance was made by Christensen requiring all comaercial or public <br />incinerators constructed ii the village be in accordance with the Fire <br />Underwriters standards and that plans for such be prepared by a registered <br />Architect. Mayor Crane then asked for a call of roll on the amendment <br />which received 5 ayes for approval. Clerk Smith then called roll on the <br />original motion with Smith, Christensen, Malvin and Crane voting aye; <br />Hodges no. Motion Carried. <br />Mayor Crane then moved that Walter Skiba be appointed Chief Fire <br />Marshall and Gordon Hafslund be appointed as Assistant Fire Marshall for <br />the village. Motion seconded by Christensen. Smith and Malvin then <br />pointed out that Mr. Skiba had quite a lot of other village work to do <br />at the present time with the waterworks program and as a village inspector <br />and that he may not have the time to give to this appointment and the is— <br />suance of burning permits. Mr, Skiba who was present at the meeting then <br />agreed to try the job and stated that he would notify the council if it <br />was necessary to give it up because of interference with other necessary <br />village work. Upon call of roll all members voted aye; motion carried. <br />The Transient Peddler's Ordinance was discussed and tabeled until <br />the next meetir <br />Mayor Crane announced that a meeting would be held at 1:00 P. M., <br />Saturday, July 30, 1960, at the village office to form an Industrial <br />Committee, and that anyone interested in serving on this committee was <br />welcome to attend this meeting. <br />
