Members Present: <br />The regular meeting of the Mounds View Village council was called to <br />order by Mayor Allan B. Crane at 8 :10 P. M., Monday August S, 1960, at the <br />Red Oak School, Red Oak Drive and Sherewood Road. <br />Members Absent: <br />PROCEEDINGS OP THE VILLAGE COUNCIL <br />VILLAGE OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />RAMSEY COUNTY <br />MINNESOTA. <br />Mayor A Ilan B. Crane <br />Clerk Earl E. Smith <br />Trustee Melford C. Christensen <br />Perry Malvin <br />Attorney Richard G. Meyers <br />Engineer Lester Knutson <br />Trustee Donald C. Hodges <br />The Minutes of July 11, 1960 was read by Clerk Smith and corrected as <br />follows! Paragraph 9, page three "Motion by Hodges seconded by Malvin that <br />Patrolman Pierce be granted two weeks vacation with pay. Motion amended <br />by Christensen that Pierce be granted one week with pay and one week without <br />pay due to the short time of service with the Police Force." Add 5 ayes, <br />Motion carried. Motion by Crane seconded by Malvin that <br />the minutes be approved as corrected. 4 eyes, motion carried. <br />The minutes of July 12th was read by Clerk Smith and corrected to read <br />that a check payable to Lametti and Sons was approved at the meeting of July <br />11, 1960 instead of July 25, 1960. Motion by Malvin seconded by Crane <br />that the minutes be approved as corrected. 4 ayes, motion carried. <br />The minutes of July 25th was read by Clerk Smith. Motion by Christensen <br />seconded by Malvin that the minutes be approved as read. <br />Mr. Eickstead, Chairman of the Police Commission read the police report <br />for the month of July which is placed on file in the Clerk's Office. <br />A discussion was held relative to the police car which had to be <br />removed from service for extensive repairs. Clerk Smith stated that when <br />a breakdown of the vehicle occurs the policeman on duty should take immediate <br />steps to have the vehicle repaired and then report same to the proper aut'ority. <br />Tne village attorney stated that someplace in the Police Ordinance the Chief <br />of Police or Police Officer in charge of the Department had the authority to <br />maintain the police equipment and see that it is in condition for service. <br />Therefore, when repair of the equipment is required it is up to the head <br />of the Department to see that the equipment is repaired as soon as possible. <br />
