Proceedings of the Village Council Mrs. Phyllis Blanchard asked the council in regards to the peddlers permits whether they were necessary for the Camp Fire Girls of which she is a leader, in order for them to sell candy in the boundaries of the Village of Mounds View. Mrs. Blanchard was informed that in accordance with the Ordinance they were required to have a permit for such soliciting. Smith then amended the motion that the Boy Smuts Explorer unit of which Mr, William Frits is a leader, be given a license for this sales or solicitation. Amended motion xxix seconded by Malvin and upon call of roll „Smith, Christensen, Malvin, and Hodges, aye; Crane No on the amended motion. Upon call of roll on the original motion 5, ayes, motion carried. The Police report was given by Mr. Robert Eickstedt which is on file in the Clerk's Office. Mr. Eickstedt also tendered his resigna— tion from the Police Commission effective November 14th, 1960 because of other duti s. Motion by Hodges seconded by Christensen to accept Mr. Eickstedt 's testgnation effective November 14, 1960. 5 ayes, motion carried. Smith then asked Mr. Eickstedt if it was allright with him if the village council forwarded a letter to his superior on the Highway patrol where he is appointed af. a Highway Patrolman. Motion by Christensen, seconded by Hodges to approve payment of a bills. This also includes payknent of 03,909.03 to the Herbst _.nstruction Company and ;13,996N8O to the Chicago Bridge and Iron Motion 'ompany, 5 ayes, Motion carried: Motion by Hodges, seconded by Malvin, that the council hire halter :.kiba as water superintendent for the village, 5 ayes, motion carried. Motion by Crane, seconded by Hodges that the salary of $5,000.00 per year be paid to Mr. Walter Skiba as Water Superintendent, effective December 1, 1960. 5 ayes, motion carried. Smith then brought up he question of payment x2 for mileage on the use of Mr. Skiba's truck. �e council concurred that mileage xf for the use of his truck while n the job would be discussed at a future date. The subject of the location of the Ramsey County Park was discussed by the council and the village attorney stated that a protest could be registered on the location of the village :!ished to do so. Mayor Crane announced that an informal discussion meeting will be held Monday, November 21st at the village office. He also announce; that the next regular meeting would be held November 28th at the Red Cak School.
