3 <br />Minutes of April 24th, 1.961 Council Meeting <br />The Civil Defense Director turned a check in the amount of <br />$283.00 from the State Treasurer, Dept. of Civil Defense, over to <br />the Clerk. Check was part of the "matching funds" program and was <br />for the radio in the Civil Defense Truck. <br />The Civil Defense Director reported that cabinets were needed <br />for the rescue truck and read several bids he had received in regards <br />to them. H. requested Counoil approval before ordering these cabinets, <br />Motion by Crane to authorize Civil Defense to spend up to $40000 <br />for cabinets and wiring for the reseoue trunk from Civil Defense <br />budget. Seconded by Hodge.. 5 Ayes. <br />Reoreation Committee report given by Mri Hodges. Houle land- <br />scaping was awarded the job of sodding infields on the ball diamonds. <br />Public Werke report from Mr. Christeneen. <br />Report on meeting with Ramsey County Engineer on roads. <br />Motion by Christensen, to have Clerk send a Work Order to Ramsey <br />Engineer to have patching done on roads and to bring them up <br />to minimum safe driving eon4itioris as agreed upon at meeting. <br />Seconded by Crane, 5 Ayes. <br />Northern States Power reported in a letter that the street lig* <br />along Highway 10 would be up by April 15t1i. <br />The Council will meet with Representatives of Northern States <br />Power to discuss a gas franchise in the Village. Meeting to be held <br />at the Village office May let, 1961. The Attorney will aloo be <br />present. <br />Mr. Wally Groberg. builder and Milt Stole Planning Commission <br />Chairman will meet with the Village Council at 7:00 P.M. May let to <br />discuss a proposal of Mr. Groberg's regarding the Pinewood Shopping <br />Center. <br />The financial statement was presented by the Clerk. Motion by <br />Crane to accept the statement as presented. Seconded by Malvin. <br />5 Ayes. <br />Motion by Blanchard to hire Mr. Robert Porter and Mr. Tom Ravelini_ <br />-.P part time employees for aesietanoe in iubtallting Water Meters, at <br />..n hourly wage of $1.50 per hour plua 7 cent per mile mileage allowanc <br />by Malvt 5 Ayes. <br />Motion by Blanchard, Seconded by Crane to approve following <br />Licenses: Garbage Hauling: Boyer Garbage Service, Hamel, Minnesota <br />Heating Contracting: Standard Heating Co., 1694 Selby,St.Paul,Minn. <br />Masonry: Leo Sinna, 5307 Hodgson Road, St. Paul, Electrical Contrac...- <br />ing: Williams Electric, 2312 Central Ave. N.E., Mpls 18, General <br />Contracting: Freeman Brothers, 895 Missiseippi St.N.E. Mpls 21, Minn. <br />Excavating Contracting Lieense: Clark and Moore. Monticello, Minn. 5 Ayef <br />Motion by Christensen. Seconded by Crane to pay bills.
