PROCEEDINGS OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL VILLAGE OF MOUNDS VIEW RAMSEY COUNTY, MINNESOTA The regular meeting of the Mounds View Village Council was called to order by Mayor Crane at 8:00 P.M., March 26, 1962 at 2401 Highway #10. Present were Mayor: Clerk: Trustees: Treasurer: Attorney: Engineer: Adm. Deputy Clerk: Public Works: Allan B. Crane Lloyd J. Blanchard Donald Hodges Perry Malvin John L. Sullivan Irene Edberg Richard Meyers Les Knutson Paul Boog Walter Skiba 0J0041 Motion by Malvin to approve minutes of the regular meeting of March 13, 1962 as presented. Seconded by Hodges. 5 Ayes. Mr. James Gibson, 7670 Groveland Road, offered his congradulations to the Council and the Village for their receipt of .a safety award fcr the Pedestrian Safety in the Village. He gave a brief history of the actions and methods used in the past towards receiving this award. Mr. Gibson, representing Mounds View Business Association requested the council reconsider these items previously before them. #1. Triangle of Highway #8 Highway #10 and County Road H -2 would like reconsideration for rezoning and potential use of this property. #2. Tom Thumb Supperette reconsideration of 3.2 off sale license previously denied. Mayor Crane informed Mr. Gibson that the Highway Department refuses to put a service road in this area. The uses proposed by the developers must be compatible with the shopping center designation, unless a variance from the planning uses is requested. Crane presented a copy of report of meeting with Highway Department on March 22, 1962. The matter of a license for the super market, although it is against the present ordinance, will be taken under consideration. Mr. Wendell Erickson, 5319 St. Stephens Street, headed a delegation from his area and made formal complaints about the condition of the roads. Standing water and chuckholes have made St. Stephens Street almost impossible in this area. The Council directed the Public Works Superintendent, Mr. Skiba, to pump the water from the roads as a temporary solution and directed the Engineer to prepare preliminary plans solving the drainage in this area. Mr. J. Varnes, 7350 Fairchild Avenue asked what progress had been made on the matter of the Lewis Lines Bus Company on County Road H -2.
