PROCEEDINGS OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL <br />VILLAGE OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />RAMSEY COUNTY, MINNESOTA <br />The regular meeting of the Mounds View Village Council <br />was called to order by Mayor Crane at 8:00 P.M., March 26, 1962 <br />at 2401 Highway #10. <br />Present were <br />Mayor: <br />Clerk: <br />Trustees: <br />Treasurer: <br />Attorney: <br />Engineer: <br />Adm. Sullivan <br />Irene Edberg <br />Richard Meyers <br />Les Knutson <br />Paul Boog <br />Walter Skiba <br />0J0041 <br />Motion by Malvin to approve minutes of the regular meeting <br />of March 13, 1962 as presented. Seconded by Hodges. 5 Ayes. <br />Mr. James Gibson, 7670 Groveland Road, offered his <br />congradulations to the Council and the Village for their receipt <br />of .a safety award fcr the Pedestrian Safety in the Village. He <br />gave a brief history of the actions and methods used in the past <br />towards receiving this award. <br />Mr. Gibson, representing Mounds View Business Association <br />requested the council reconsider these items previously before them. <br />#1. Triangle of Highway #8 Highway #10 and County Road H -2 <br />would like reconsideration for rezoning and potential use of <br />this property. <br />#2. Tom Thumb Supperette reconsideration of 3.2 off <br />sale license previously denied. <br />Mayor Crane informed Mr. Gibson that the Highway Department <br />refuses to put a service road in this area. The uses proposed by <br />the developers must be compatible with the shopping center <br />designation, unless a variance from the planning uses is requested. <br />Crane presented a copy of report of meeting with Highway Department <br />on March 22, 1962. <br />The matter of a license for the super market, although <br />it is against the present ordinance, will be taken under consideration. <br />Mr. Wendell Erickson, 5319 St. Stephens Street, headed a <br />delegation from his area and made formal complaints about the <br />condition of the roads. Standing water and chuckholes have made <br />St. Stephens Street almost impossible in this area. <br />The Council directed the Public Works Superintendent, <br />Mr. Skiba, to pump the water from the roads as a temporary solution <br />and directed the Engineer to prepare preliminary plans solving the <br />drainage in this area. <br />Mr. J. Varnes, 7350 Fairchild Avenue asked what progress <br />had been made on the matter of the Lewis Lines Bus Company on <br />County Road H -2. <br />
