The preliminary report on water project 1962 -1 was <br />presented by the Engineer and placed on file. <br />Motion by Blanchard to hold public hearing and to advertise <br />for bids on water project 1962 -1. Engineer to prepare bids and <br />specs and publish and /or mail such notices and bids required by <br />stature. Bids to close at 8:00 P.M. April 23, 1962. Hearing <br />to be at 8 :30 P.M. April 23, 1962. Seconded by Crane. 5 Ayes <br />The Engineer advised the Council to insure the water tower <br /> ')immediately, so as to have full protection, <br />The Clerk was instructed to notify the insurance agents and <br />have policy executed. <br />The Clerk was instructed to notify the occupants of the homes <br />on St. Stephens Street that at an informal meeting on April 21, 1962 <br />at 1:00 P.M. the Council and the Village Engineer would present <br />a solution to their drainage problem. <br />Motion by Crane to order plans and specs from Village Engineer <br />on improving of Hillview Road from Highway #8 to Quincy Street and <br />to prepare right of way acquisition for same, according to state <br />aid specs. Seconded by Hodges. 5 Ayes <br />The Attorney informed the Council that the matter of the <br />extra charges claimed by the Dedolph Construction Company was <br />still not resolved and advised against any payment at this time. <br />Motion by Crane to authorize the Clerk to apply for releif <br />f taxes and assessments on the property purchased by the Village <br />from Mr. Foley and Mr. Porter. Seconded by Blanchard. 5 Ayes <br />Motion by Crane to adopt Resolution #100 regarding <br />reapportionment of assessments. Seconded by Malvin <br />5 Ayes <br />The Attorney made a lengthy report on the Judicial Ditch <br />running through the Village. He stated that the County must <br />do the work needed to improve this ditch and that the Village <br />could spend no funds for this purpose. He explained what steps <br />should be taken at this time and the following action was taken: <br />Motion by Sullivan to have the Attorney write a letter to <br />the County Board of Commissioners, County Attorney. County <br />Engineer, and other County and State Officers relating to this <br />ditch, regarding the obstruction of Judicial Ditch #1 on the <br />Don Voge property. Seconded by Hodges. 5 Ayes <br />Motion by Crane to have Attorney request County Board of <br />^ommissioners to improve Judicial Ditch #1 in Village of Mounds <br /> —Slew. Seconded by Sullivan. 5 Ayes <br />Motion by Crane to adopt resolution #101 regarding petition <br />to State Highway Department for crossover at Edgewood Drive and <br />Highway #10.
