.3- <br />OJ0057 <br />Motion by Malvin to accept minutes of April 9, 1962 <br />as presented. Seconded by Hodges. 4 Ayes <br />Mr. Hodges read the minutes of the Recreation Committee. <br />(minutes were placed on fi1e4) Mr Malvin reported on the Lake- <br />side Park. He informed the Council that Mr. Prckopowicz, <br />councilman and Mr. StaviskVi Village Representative from <br />Spring Lake Park Village had attended the last meeting. <br />The Lakeside Park Commission proposes to do extensive grading <br />and leveling of the park area and after discussion the following <br />action was taken: <br />Motion by Malvin to increase Village contribution to <br />the Lakeside Park Commission budget ir, the amount of $2,000.00, <br />for sight improvement (grading etc.r providing that the Village <br />of Spring Lake Park will do the same. <br />Seconded by Blanchard. 4 Ayes <br />Mr. Sullivan reported on a meeting with residents from <br />St. Stephens Street that was held by the Council on Saturday <br />April 7, 1962. At this meeting the residents expressed their <br />wishes to correct a drainage situation using their own.. Labor <br />with Village supervision and equipment. The Village Council <br />agreed to allow these residents to do this, providing there <br />will be no liability to the Village. <br />At Planning Commission recommendations, Mr. Skiba, <br />was directed by the Council to canvass the Village and make <br />an:accurate listing of all businesses, both those that conform <br />to the zoning ordinance and those that do not conform. Said <br />list will have information as to size, employees, etc. <br />Motion by Sullivan to hire a full time employee, as <br />of May 1, 1962, at a salary of $80.00 per week, to perform <br />work as needed in all Village departments. Seconded by Blanchard. <br />3 Ayes. Malvin abstained. He stated that his reason for <br />abstaining from voting was because he was not in favor of <br />advertising for this person and does not feel the Village <br />needs this man. <br />The name of the person hired for this position will be <br />listed in the minutes of the next regular meeting, May 14, 1962. <br />The minutes of the Planning Commission meeting were <br />read and placed on file. <br />The Attorney presented a memoranda on the establishing <br />of Municipal Court and Joint Municipal Court. He read portions <br />of this and Mr. Sullivan stated he would contact Mayor Sweezo <br />of New Brighton, to see if a meeting could be arranged to <br />discubs this with New Brighton and other surrounding communities. <br />The Attorney read a Resolution modifying water <br />assessments. Motion by Blanchard to adopt Resolution #102 <br />Seconded by Sullivan. 4 Ayes <br />
