PROCEEDINGS 'F THE VILLAGE COUNCIL <br />VILLAGE OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />A special meeting of the Mounds View Village Council <br />with representativesof the North Suburban Sanitary Sewer <br />District was called to order at 3 :30 P.M., October 19, 1962. <br />at 2401 Highway #10. <br />Purpose of the meeting was to inform the Council of <br />the progress of the District to date and the plans for the <br />future. <br />Present Were: <br />Moundt yie Sa �,ary District <br />Allan Crane, Mayor I. Comstock <br />Donald Hodges, Trustee W4 Sha <br />Perry Malvin, Trustee M. Christensen <br />John Sullivan, Trustee Z. Mann <br />Paul Boog, Admi Clerk <br />Les Knutson, Engineer <br />Tentative Plan #1 is to provide sewage facilities <br />where "immediate need" is determined in the six community <br />area comprising the following: Blane, Coon Rapids, Brooklyn <br />Park, Fridley, Mounds View and Spring Lake Park. <br />The route of the-main interceptor through Mounds View <br />would follow along the judicial ditch from the South East <br />corner toward the South West Corner of the village, the <br />outlet would be located at the South East corner. This <br />main interceptor would be approximately the same cost and be <br />at the same location whether there would be a District <br />Disposal plant or whether a sewer line would be built to Minn- <br />eapolis. The trunk system has been planned for a saturation <br />peak load, presently there are seventy thousand residents <br />within this area o saturation peak plans for one hundred <br />and twenty thousand residents <br />Reasons for the Regional Treatment Plant over a <br />seperate sewer line to Minneapolis <br />1. The only plan that costs can be determined. <br />$13emillion dollars for main interceptor; 7.7 million dollars <br />for plant. (Other plan calls for apportioning construction <br />cost of Pigs Eye Island Plant.$100 million to $200 millions dollars <br />2. Least Expensive of the two initially <br />3. Financing would allow internal revenue. <br />4. Nothing ease. is available. <br />5. More representation on Board of each Village. <br />6, One mile and a quarter below Minneapolis Water Supply. <br />7. Those who pass judgement, cause policy, determine <br />rates and figure ec are directly affected. <br />
